Arson caused by 8 teens!
On March 4th police arrested 8 teenagers for the arson of the Auckland’s Museum ofTransport and Technology, where a 121 year old railway carriage was destroyed in the flames. The teens were mostly 16 years of age.
The museum staff say that the carriage cannot be replaced.
This is pointless really, what is the point in burning down a building. It isn’t fun and it gets you in lots of trouble like these teenagers have discovered. I hope what has happened to these teens stop others attempting to do the same.

This particular incident was really sad and it just goes to show that many teenagers and other New Zealander’s don’t respect history. I also agree that nothing comes from it and there really is no point in this destructive behaviour.

I also think that this is a very silly and pointless thing to do. It’s not like you’re going to gain anything by burning down the building. You’re just going to let the others down, and lose some of New Zealand’s history.

That was such a stupid thing to do! I’m glad the culprits were caught, and I hope that they, and other teenagers that have done a similar thing learn from this.

I don’t think it will make a differance unless the punishment is really serious because as we have seen teens don’t always stop doing somthing because half of them think ” narh I’ll never get caught, not me “.

I think there is no point in burning down a building because whats going to come out of it. Just a burnt building. I dont think that teenagers will stop doing this because they just think that they wont get caught only other people will. But most of them get caught. I hope when Im a teenager I wont do things like this

Um I agree with what you all said it was stupid and pointless and those teenagers are to me just another bunch of 16 year old criminals to add to New Zealands already long list. Its outragous with the amount of teen criminals and it is when you think about it actually not good publicity for New Zealand. So we are basicly saying things like that teenagers need to make better choices and respect all things in their history and present life. I mean is it the stress of school that is making them do this or is it peer pressure or just the fact that they are an uncontrollable teen???

Mrs Crowe this has nothing to do wirth burning history or anything its just that I was wondering if you knew anything about why when I went onto my blog did it have a total different presentation and not the one I last had with the dog picture of mine??? I am so confused and I changed it back but still have no idea as to how it changed? I asked you on ultranet but your name on the side of my buddies list keeps going online, offline, online, offline…etc.

what is the point of trying to burn down a muesum when its only full of stuff many years old. But its still sad that the train was destroyed it was a nice train. The mueseum that was burned was also problay one of the most famous mueseums in newzealand to.
