Anzac Inquiry – Part Two

Here are the last of our group multimedia presentations focused on their Anzac inquiry essential question.

Anzac Day – A Celebration of Failure?

Is Anzac Day a Celebration of a Failure?

How Relevant is Anzac Day Today?

Anzac Inquiry

Here are the group presentations from our Anzac inquiry where students had to answer their essential question in a multimedia format. Although they had a choice of presentation tools, all groups chose PhotoStory.

Here are the first four. I’ve had difficulty embedding these at school but have managed to get the code to work at home so it must be the filter on our network! Again!!!

Slideshow Fun

After reading (and watching) some blog posts from Rachel Boyd, Paul Harrington and Allanah about Animoto I decided to create my own slideshow using this new ‘toy’. As all my pictures are on an external hard drive and not handy at present, I had to use the few photos that are on my laptop. Here is my creation using some photos I took of my Year 7s at their final Food lesson which was a cafe food tasting for their parents and other invited guests.

I can’t embed this at present soooo try this link.

Update – Animoto videos can now be embedded into Edublogs!

What would you do if…?

Powers Of Ten

I was shown this video at the GATE meeting I was at yesterday and thought you would like to view it too. What do you think?

Powers of Ten is a short film by Charles and Ray Eames, whose work you may have previously sat in. The film starts on a picnic blanket in Chicago and zooms out 10x every 10 seconds until the entire universe (more or less) is visible. And then they zoom all the way back down into the nucleus of an atom.

As it is not yet available to embed, you can view it here http://www.fugly.com/videos/4467/powers-of-ten-video.html

If it takes too long to buffer, you might like to try the alternative site offered but the quality doesn’t seem to be as good. As I have downloaded it, I will make it available to you in the class folder on the server but leave any comments here.

Shift Happens

This has been around for awhile but I thought I’d share it with you. I’d love to hear your comments!

This is Your Future!

A video about how we will interact with computers in the future. Give it a look — and by the way, “Where’s the Computer?” It’s all about the information.

What Do You Think?

Check out Zach’s delightful artistry. This is quite an amazing clip. What do you think? Is it for real? Is this kid our next Picasso?
